Abbey Manor buys Weston site for retail warehouse
Estates Gazette – 23 August 1999
Abbey Manor has bought 3 acres at the Locking Castle District Centre in Weston-super-Mare for non-food retail development.
The proposed scheme will comprise 30,000 sq.ft of Open A1 retail accommodation, with parking, adjacent to the existing Safeway. There are also plans for a health centre, nursery, pub, restaurant and library.
A spokesman for Abbey Manor refused to release details of the price, citing "on-going negotiations with retailers".
Edwards Hardwich & Partners advised Abbey Manor. Alder King acted on behalf of the vendors, a local consortium.
