Development Schemes Approved

Plans to build a terrace of townhouses alongside a Yeovil landmark have been approved. Abbey Manor Capital Partners has approval to build six houses on a strip of land next to the old cinema.

The consent allows the developer to cut down a row of Eucalyptus trees opposite the site and replace them with alternative species that will not block light for the new homes. The Area South joint committee of South Somerset District council and Somerset county Council approved planning permission last week.

Elsewhere in the town, Abbey Manor Capital Partners secured conditional approval from South Somerset District Council to develop land for industrial purposes at the Garador Factory, Bunford Lane, Yeovil.
